FAQs (Frequently asked Questions)

Q. Does teeth whitening work for everybody?
A. Most people having a healthy set of teeth respond to the treatment very well. Our dentists will assist and advise you in your particular case.

Q. How long will the results last?
A. This differs from person to person but most teeth whitening lasts between 1-3 years. Our dentists will find out the initial tonality and will advise you on the duration of the results that can be expected with the treatment.

Q. I am a very strong smoker/coffee-tea drinker. Will my stains disappear?
A. Yes, it is possible that a longer treatment could be necessary; hence you may need a continuation at home for a few days.

Q. Can copped or other false teeth also be whitened?
A. It is possible, but this treatment will be explained by the dentist.

Q. Can tetracycline stains also be treated?
A. This depends on the degree of these tetracycline stains. Those between the degrees 1 and 2 respond very well, but the results for those of the 3rd degree are unforeseeable.

Q. What beverages and foods should be avoided after the treatment?
A: During the first 48 hours one should avoid the consumption of coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, as well as all vegetables with a strong colour (strawberries, beetroot, artichokes, carrots, etc).

Q. Does the colour of false teeth or crowns change?
A. No, but they will be cleaned and you may need to change them to adapt them to the colour of the rest of the teeth.

Q. Is it safe?
A. Yes, it is, but occasionally you may notice a slight rise of sensitivity during the first 24 hours after the treatment.

Q. How long does the treatment take?
A. Approximately 30 minutes of treatment plus preparation.

Q. How white will my teeth be?
A. The ICEBERG whitening formula has demonstrated that it can reach changes up to 12 tonalities. ICEBERG can improve your teeth surprisingly, but not everybody responds to the treatment equally. The results will vary depending on factors like the density and porosity of the tooth, as well as on your lifestyle. The majority obtain results in a single visit. For a lasting white smile you may need a daily 15-30 minutes treatment over 5 days, every once in a while, which your dentist will specify to you in your individual case.

Q. Am I a good candidate for teeth whitening?
A. Were your teeth white when you were younger and now tend to turn yellow? Are your stains on the surface rather than the interior, as in the case of stains caused by tetracycline taken in small amounts? Are your frontal teeth healthy, without tooth deposits or fillings? If the answer to these questions is yes, you are a perfect candidate for the treatment.

Q. How long will the obtained results last?
A. Your ICEBERG smile can last up to 3 years. Obviously, the habits and lifestyle of each individual varies, and the regular use of the tobacco, consumption of red wine, coffee or tea will influence the permanence of the results. Periodically visiting the dentist for the corresponding cleaning upkeep will help to maintain the results. You can use ICEBERG treatments periodically and maintain thus a whiter smile!

Q. Is it safe?
A. Yes, the ICEBERG formula will not damage the dental enamel and it will not affect existing fillings. Our ICEBERG treatment is based on the development of our formula that has been used in a safe and effective way in more than 40,000 dental clinics.

Q. Will my tooth deposits or fillings change their colour?
A. No, it only takes effect on natural teeth.

Q. What causes the discolouration and yellowish colouration of the teeth?
A. Most stains increase over the years and are caused by the use of the tobacco, coffee, tea and other agents. Some discolouration can be caused by the use of certain medicines such as tetracycline or the excess of fluorine in the drinking water.

Q. How can I maintain the results for the maximum possible time?
A. ICEBERG recommends the following program of dental hygiene habits:

1) Brush your teeth 3 times a day
2) Use dental floss after each meal
3) Visit a dentist every 6 months for hygiene and check ups.
4) Use the ICEBERG maintenance treatment as often as you need, to maintain your shining teeth.

Q. What I will notice?
A. It is a very comfortable and relaxing treatment that consists of applying a gel to the dental surface to be treated, and exposing this to a special light in order to activate it.

Q. How much will it improve the colour of my teeth?
A. The dental whitening treatment will not only whiten your teeth but it will also give brightness to them. The improvement will depend on a great number of factors that the dentist can better explain to you.

Q. Does it hurt?
A. You only will notice that something is happening, but nothing particularly disagreeable. No injections, etc.

Q. What sound does it produce?
A. The light unit makes a slight sound when the programmed cycle finishes.

Q. Will the rotor also be used?
A. Only to clean your teeth before the whitening and to polish and create brilliance as a final step of the treatment.

Q. When do you have to do it again?
A. It works for several years.

Q. Is teeth whitening very common?
A. Very common and used already for many years.

Q. Is it safe?
A. Yes, very safe. The only danger is to the eyes; because of this your dentist will provide you with special glasses that will protect you from the light.

Q. What comments have other patients about this type of treatment?
A. Most of the patients are very satisfied with the ICEBERG treatment. In order to describe it they use words like: Relaxing! Because you are in contact with nothing except the gel.
